On land you need to have captured a landing area for them, in space they can just hyperspace in wherever.
There is a limit to how much you can have at once, the others count as reinforcements which you can bring in at any time. You don't build units in battle, you only have the ones you brought in your fleet. You create all your units here then when a battle begins you go into either the view for a space battle or land battle. Now this does have some base building while you managed your Empire/rebellion on the galaxy screen, you build factories or mines on planets and such. There is the Dawn of war 2 series, the first one is very much base building but the second has a focus on more tactical combat instead.Ĭompany of heroes has got some base building but is still more focused on combat.
